Harmonics

Mouth harmonics found on Lagorai screes near the Austrian second lines. 

After cleaning them from rust, a few pieces of preserved wood emerged on the sides. 

These pieces may be insignificant if we think exclusively about war, but in my opinion they tell us that there were not only bloody battles but also long periods of stalling before running towards the enemy trenches. 

So each soldier carried small items to pass the time and bring joy among his comrades.
